Some things to do with kids parents / guardians don’t have much say in at all. Like growing up for example. We’re all gonna do it, ready or not. That’s what today’s blog is about.
Ok, ok! So I’m having waaay too much fun with this tween thing and here we are going back-to-back with the same pun. GUILTY! And again I feel I may need to explain that in Australia the expression ‘cleaning up’ can mean exactly that – to clean something up, but it can also mean massive victory like taking all of the trophies or cleaning up (taking) all of the prizes. My title means both that I’m getting my tween on and cleaning up, meaning buying ALL the things haha. Now hopefully nothing has been lost in translation
… moving on …
Yesterday I blogged about having a major clean out of all my old clothes – Tween Out , and in my blog I spoke about how I had outgrown most of my clothes, not just in size but also in style. I feel older now and ready for clothes that are less ‘kid’ and more ‘teen’.
What does one do when they have cleaned out and emptied all of their drawers and cupboards and given their clothes to an op shop? … take your time – I’ll wait …
GO SHOPPING!!! Yaaasssss
How is a parent to know when their child is ready to tween up their wardrobe? When they have outgrown their usual clothes spree stores! If you take your child clothes shopping and they are bored and just can’t seem to find anything to spend your money on – trust me – something is NOT right! In fact, something is very, very wrong! haha
You will know that it’s time to say goodbye to the old store and find yourself a store more aimed at tweens and teens (meaning teenagers and in between kids and teenagers = tweens). So you can relax parents. When the time comes you will know! It will be screaming at you loud and clear, probably screaming something like “MUUUM! THERE’S NOTHING HERE! I CAN’T FIND ANYTHING THAT I LIKE!”
ps The shopping spree in the photo featured in this blog is from a couple of weeks ago when we were blogging the Tunarama Festival in Port Lincoln, South Australia. Thank you so much Jay Jay’s Port Lincoln for taking such good care of us, we absolutely loved our time in beautiful Port Lincoln and we had a great time shopping at Jay Jay’s.
pps This may or may not have been only one of a few bags of shopping that I left with … we almost had to buy more luggage to bring it all home …
… sorry, not sorry 😀
