Recently I was lucky enough to go to the absolutely beautiful seaside town of Port Lincoln in South Australia and blog their annual Tunarama Festival as one of our things to do with kids events. While we were there we had a little look around and we came across this gem in the street outside of a surf shop. This is the original unedited photo …
As you can see – it’s just on the outside wall of a store. I am standing on the sidewalk and you can see the street in the reflection in the store window.
To explain what is happening within the artwork – ep means Eyre Peninsula, this is the peninsula within South Australia where Port Lincoln is located. The words, actually they are names, of the wings are surf beaches found on Eyre Peninsula. I even know of a couple of these beaches and I can tell you that they stretch from Fisheries (top left) at Port Lincoln, down the bottom of the Eyre Peninsula to the infamous Cactus (right, 3rd from top) right near the top of Eyre Peninsula, actually on the way to the Nullarbor and the Great Australian Bight. You might remember I blogged the whale nursery up that way.
You never know what you might find just right on the street. Photo ops are everywhere if you keep an eye out and have a look around. I was pretty stoked we found this one.
