Long Hair

Things to do with kids hair, girls hair in particular, and especially long hair can be endless. The styles, the accessories and the updos – aahh! The possibilities are endless!

I guess it’s no secret that I have long hair. I get a lot of compliments on my hair and that it is so long. Really though long hair is kinda the norm at the moment and although mine might be a little longer than average, I think considering the trend for long hair right now, mine isn’t that different from most girls.

I’m also getting taller and that is changing the way my hair looks. When I was shorter my hair looked super long, and it was past my bottom sometimes if I didn’t get it cut for a while. But now that I’m taller my hair appears shorter.

Still brushing …

One thing about long hair is it needs a lot of brushing. I have a couple of favorite brushes. One that I prefer when my hair is wet because it’s good for detangling and one when my hair is dry, because it adds a shine to my hair.

Sometimes if I feel like having squeaky clean hair and scalp, I will pour a jug of lime water (juice from a lime squeezed into a jug of warm water) over my head, when I first get in the shower and rinse it really well before I get out. Lime just cleans off everything that isn’t attached and gets rid of dead skin and it feels amazing once the hair is dry. So clean. And with my dark hair I really don’t want any dandruff because it will be visible. Do you have any good hair tips?

  1. Depending on your hair type,
Oily hair==aside from lemon or lime juice, you can also use beer as initial rinse while showering(just don’t drink it–lol). Oily hair has oil buds which can be felt by finger when the hair is touched
Dry hair—for extra moisture, lather in some mayonnaise, wrap head with a towel and wait for about 15-20 minutes, then rinse and then use your usual shampoo and conditioner.
Normal hair and combination hair==I guess anything goes by applying anything from what i mentioned earlier.

      1. I think mayonnaise was used because it’s partly made from egg. In some parts of Asia, egg shampoos are used. These shampoos are commercially made with eggs as one of its ingredients. I think it has to do with the fatty egg yolk for moisture and the egg white as protein to strengthen the hair shaft. also don;t forget to have a hair trim from time to time to avoid split ends. Now if ever you decide to cut a good part of your hair, keep some of it as souvenir for your self. The rest, you can donate to an organization that makes wigs for cancer survivors undergoing chemotherapy and had lost their hair as a result of it.

    1. My Nanna does that when I stay at her house because she doesn’t like the hassle with knots in the morning. I love it because when I take it out and brush it (after it’s dry) it’s all crinkly and fluffy – I love it like that πŸ™‚
