We can’t talk about things to do with kids without talking about role models.
There’s the debates about the celebrities and the media and the advertising industry and their connection to teenage eating disorders, among other things. I will leave the debating up to the people who know more than me about it but I think we are more informed now, in this generation, and will continue to be.
We now know that nearly all of the pictures that we see in magazines aren’t real. And unlike a couple of generations ago, most of us now have photo editing programs that we use ourselves at home. It isn’t a bad thing to have idols and role models and aspire to be the best that you can be but I think it’s about being the best YOU that you can be – not trying to be someone else. I read somewhere that you can’t be happy if you aren’t living authentically, as the real you. I like that 🙂 #lifegoals
