Singing in the Bathroom

Some things to do with kids defy logic, but then so to some things to do with adults. I think singing in the shower could be one of those things – or is it?

We’ve all heard of singing in the shower. Almost everybody has sung or whistled or hummed in the shower at least once.

I like to just go into the bathroom sometimes with my guitar or ukulele and shut the door and sing. The acoustics sound great in a bathroom – it makes my voice sound fuller and more present and it’s easier to hear what is working and what isn’t I think.

I also like that you can really test your vocal strength out without the pressure of other people hearing you, like with a microphone yet, I can still hear it coming back at me and giving me that feedback because of the acoustics.

  1. The most enjoyable singing is in the shower or bath because one is totally uninhibited and relaxed, is not bothered about making mistakes nor has to impress anybody. Trying to impress others or audiences takes away all the joy and makes one tense. Art or music for me are all about relaxation and enjoyement not performance.
