Tookii things to do with kids at Nullabor Plain South Australia one of the outdoor activities for kids

The Nullabor Plain

Whale watching and exploring nature are some of the best things to do with kids. Activities for kids like visiting the whales is a must – so cross the nullarbor during whale watching season – between June and October. It will be a highlight of the trip. Don’t forget the grab the essential photo with the sign.

In Australia we have many special places in nature and one of these places is the Nullabor Plain. Nullabor is a Latin word meaning ‘No Trees’.

The Nullabor is on The Great Australian Bight, which looks like someone has taken a bight out of Australia leaving us with the Bunda Cliffs, which are the longest uninterrupted line of sea cliffs in the world. Like I said ‘special’. This area used to be a sea bed but has since been raised to a height of upto 120 meters in some places.

There are many things to see while travelling through the Nullabor. There are even caves  to explore and if you travel between the months of May and November you can stop in and do some whale watching at the Head of the Bight which becomes a nursery for Southern Right Whales at this time.
