Tookii things to do with kids at Blackeby's Old Sweet Shop one of the activities for kids

Lovely Lollies

Lolly or sweet shopping are definitely on the things to do with kids list 😉

There is a shop that I love near Rundle Mall that my mum always takes me to when we are in Adelaide. It’s a lolly shop (yes that’s a whole shop just for lollies) but not just any lollies. They are special lollies that you can’t buy anywhere else other than other specialty lolly shops.

This magical place is called Blackeby’s Old Sweet Shop and it has an awesome history that I love and you can read the story here. After reading I’m sure you will agree that it’s a pretty special little store and what an awesome kid William Blackeby must have been.

I will just point out that I don’t always walk out with two big bags of lollies – we were shopping for a party. Well, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it! haha.

  1. I take it that the word lollies mean not just lollipops but also hard candy without a stick. It must be a British word for candy,I guess. Reminds me of the Candyman when looking at the statue of Mr. Blackeby. Enjoy your treats but always remember to eat them in moderation between meals.
