Tookii things to do with kids holding a pumpkin one of the outdoor activities for kids

Pumpkin Patch

Gardening is a great thing to do with kids, growing your own food is a great reward too.

So you hear quite a lot about our garden on my blog I know. Recently I’ve blogged about my Puppas Not so secret garden and A plant called Lucky and even the tree that is growing bananas where they shouldn’t grow in my blog Going Bananas but, I haven’t even started to talk about what can be found in our garden yet, and today I’m all about the pumpkin patch.

To be honest – I don’t ‘love’pumpkins. I do like a bit of pumpkin soup with bread and butter but I most like my Nannas roast pumpkins.

Nanna cooks (roasts) them until they have quite a bit of black on them and it makes them sweet like they’re caramelized or something. It changes the taste completely and it’s yuuumm.

If you have trouble getting your child to eat pumpkin, maybe you could try this for them – they might just love it?! Grab some pumpkin seeds and grow your own or get the kids to grow them – they might like them more??

  1. gardening is the BEST!!! You get to play in dirt, watch bugs, feel worms in your hands, dig holes for flowers, pick veggies and eat them all while learning so much science (and the garden is the teacher! no tests!)
